about us

Our mission is to help our dogs find permanent and loving homes

regardless of age or disability.

Mid-Atlantic Jack Rescue, Inc. (MAJR) is a foster-based rescue that seeks to help Jack Russell Terriers (JRT) and JRT mixes find permanent and loving homes ..
our rescue is made up of many volunteers spread throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Delaware, but we have partners and supporters nationwide. Every dog in our care is living in a foster home where he/she can be loved, socialized, and (if needed) rehabilitated, and will remain there until we can find the best “fur-ever” home for each one.
Most MAJR volunteers have a wealth of experience to draw from regarding this special breed, but you don’t have to be a JRT expert to find a place to volunteer with us! If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our Volunteer page.
In addition to saving and placing dogs, we also find a purpose in educating the public and animal welfare organizations about these very special little dogs and helping owners who may be having problems with their own dogs resolve their issues.

We work hard to reduce the number of homeless Jacks and to assist in the prevention of cruelty to animals.
