THIS IS WHY WE RESCUE

LITTLE   LULU

Mid-Atlantic Jack Rescue was contacted in January of 2026 about 4 Jack Russells living in a car with their owner. Soon after, we were notified these dogs had been placed in a shelter in southern Virginia, and we were able to take 3 of the 4 while the fourth dog went to another rescue

While other two dogs that we pulled with Lulu were fine health wise, it was clear when we first saw Lulu, this little girl was not so lucky. Her health had really suffered. In fact, due to her condition, her owner was charged with animal abuse.
As you can see from these pictures of Lulu when she first came to us, she had very little hair and her skin was red and irritated.

With the help of our vet and the financial support from some generous friends, as her foster mom, I have been able to improve her condition considerably. Her hair is slowly coming back, but it is likely it will never completely fill in. Lulu will be on a special diet, probably requiring supplements and medications for her whole life.

Throughout her time with me, Lulu has proven to be the sweetest, most loving little girl! She definitely is a personality kid, and she has developed quite the following on social media! Due to her skin condition, Lulu usually wears sweaters and coats for warmth. However, truthfully, she is quite the diva and loves showing off her fancy dresses! I have never seen a dog that poses as naturally as our Princess Lulu. Lulu is a perfect example of why our rescue is so important for Lulu and all the other dogs we have saved and will (with your support) continue to save.
